Come sostituire un HDD hotspare in predictive failure su MD3600
Ciao a tutti,
avrei bisogno di conferma circa l'esatta procedura di sostituzione di un HDD impostato come hot spare su MD3600.
Il recovery guru riporta i passi seguenti:
1Remove the affected physical disk.
Note: The Service Action Allowed status in the Details area is always NO for this problem because the physical disk is not yet failed. In this situation, it is acceptable to remove the component even though the Service Action Allowed is NO.
2Wait 30 seconds, then insert the new physical disk. Its fault indicator light may be lit for a short time (one minute or less).3Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your Technical Support Representative.
sono nel dubbio se serve far fallire (ammesso che MDSM consenta questa operazione) il disco prima di estrarlo oppure essendo un disco Hot Spare in standBy, detta operazione non serve.

Se l'unità è online ed è elencata come guasto previsto, è necessario forzare l'unità offline prima di sostituirla. Il motivo è che se l'unità non viene forzata offline e sostituita, i blocchi danneggiati possono trasferirsi sul disco virtuale e causare un doppio errore/striscia bucata. Pertanto, consiglio vivamente di forzare la disconnessione dell'unità, quindi di rimuoverla, attendere 20 secondi e inserire l'unità sostitutiva.

Ciao Chris,
ho sostituito l'HDD che, ti ricordo era impostato come global hot spare, Per precauzione pur non andando ad impattare sui virtual disk l'ho rimosso dopo averlo fatto fallire, da notare che inserendo il nuovo HDD hot spare ho dovuto rimuovere logicamente il vecchio e settare in HS il nuovo.
Ora lo storage è in condizione ottimale!
