we are migrating an AIX GPFS Cluster server from HDS 9980 to EMC DMX4 using Open Replicator Hot Pull. Could you please let me know if we would be able to migrate the ASM disks..

Thanks

Raja ASM is just an application running on your host and changing data in the storage. If the storage where ASM is running supports Open Replicator, you can easily push data from source storage to target storage.

Can you please provide better details on your environment ?? What OS/host are you running ?? What's the source/target storage ??

OR copies whole disk content. Your DMX4 will act as an host reading data from original HDS storage while your real AIX hosts will read/write on devices inside the DMX4.

I did a quick search.. No issues, apparently.

IF ASM is on a raw disk it is not a problem, after the migration you point to the new disks in init.ora and you are back in business. But here you have another layer - GPFS. So the real question is: "Can you migrate GPFS with open replicator?"
