Please try these commands:

Run the following commands from an elevated command prompt:

Open a command prompt and CD to C:\Program Files\EMC\Cluster-Enabler\mof. In this folder run the following commands:
C:\Program Files\EMC\Cluster-Enabler\mof> mofcomp CE.mof
C:\Program Files\EMC\Cluster-Enabler\mof> mofcomp CEUtil.mof

CD to C:\Program Files\EMC\Cluster-Enabler\Plugin\Symm\mof and run the following command:
C:\Program Files\EMC\Cluster-Enabler\Plugin\Symm\mof> mofcomp CE_Symm.mof

John,

Can you run the following commands:

WMIC /NAMESPACE:\\root\MSCluster PATH MSCluster_Resource GET Name

WMIC /NAMESPACE:\\root\emc\ce PATH EMC_StorageSystem

If the first command generates an error, you will need to contact Microsoft to get support for this WMI issue.

If the second command generates an error, see the solution in KB article 74643 for manually registering the CE MOF files.

Hope this helps

Hello John9793 , Can you let me know the CE base and Plugin versions you are using and also what is the OS family of your cluster nodes?

Hope that helps

Hi Mohammed,

It got past the error (yay! :-) ... then fell over again while discovering storage (boo!) ... I think we're now into how the storage is presented to the two nodes ...

The error message was ...

Hi

and in anticipation of the next question :-)

I have 2 arrays and 2 servers. Each array has 3 luns

Array 1 (sid 566) has 3 luns (SRDF R1)

Array 2 (sid 588) has 3 luns (SRDF R2)

Host 1 is using the 3 R1's and Host 2 is using the 3 R2's

I've also presented the R2's to host 1 and the R1's to host 1.

Each host also has 1 x GK

For completeness ... sympd output .. (Hmmm, looks like I'm missing array 566 on Host 2)

I'll look at fixing this

Thanks for your help Mohammed and John.

You need a minimum of 6GK per node of the cluster. Since you only have one, this could be causing this issue.

Also, your HOST1 should not see the R2 devices. The remote array needs to be seen as a remote array in a 'symcfg list' command, so you will need to change the zoning/masking to remove array 0588 from NODE1

Hope this helps.

If you are sure that R1 is presented to the node and R2 devices are presented to the node in the remote side and the pair status of devices are synchronized/consistent then  i would recommend opening a case with support team for further investigation of the devs seen by each node.

Check the output of "sympd list" on each node. Do you see any device missing?

Hope this helps
