how to run Vapp solution enabler in vmware workstation

Hello guru's

did any one try running the solution enabler vapp in vmware workstation & practised the symmetrix commands...?

if so please post me the method how to extract the image in vmware workstation & start practising the commands....?

Are you talking about solutions enabler vApp posted on PowerLink ? If yes, it’s not a simulator ..it’s a little VM running Suse that has symcli installed on it. You can present gatekeepers to this VM (in RDM physical mode) and use it as your symapi server. I point vSphere storage viewer to this VM to gather array info so you can actually click on a datastore in vSphere and see corresponding LUN/symdev information.
