Ioscan on HP-UX hangs
I just assigned 2 new metas to an HP-UX host running v3. I did set the Os2007, V, and SPC2 flags. The SA is able to see his luns but he stated it created lots on device files that show no devices. Also the Ioscan hangs for a very long time. SA feels this is not normal.
Any input will be helpful.

Is the C bit set as well ?

I opened a live chat with EMC support. The tech was great. We feel the problem was the System Admins had attempted to scan for devices prior to me setting the SPC2 bit. The Admin had sent me an e-mail stating that he could see his gatekeeper before I had completed the allocation of the new devices. The EMC support tech stated that the SPC2 bit must be set prior to the host discovery or you will have to reboot.
