ASID is an automatic healthcheck script run from Symmetrix service processor by service engineers.

ABE3 is (presumably) a Symmetrix error code, but doesn't appear to exist.
AB3E is Symmetrix front end error indicating an open systems host aborted a SCSI command, or mainframe host "halt I/O".

PSE3 is a Level 3 (senior) Product Support Engineer.

I suspect you've seen these in case text?

ASID
The term ASID stands for Automated Symmetrix Intelligent Diagnostics. ASID is used to quickly & safely determine the overall health of a Symmetrix System by running a script-controlled, suite of checks. At the completion of the script, the user is presented with a one-line, color-coded, status box. The script also creates a comprehensive, easy-to-read log/text file.
Previously us CE's use to input all the commands manually and was reffered to as Keys To Success. This suite of checks is run before AND after all work done on a Symm be it an upgrade, break/fix activity or just dialling into a box to collect a bin file.
ASID was first GA in October 2003 and has been improved on, on a regualar basis.
I could give you a lot more info but that's the main bones of it.

Yes Stefano.
Us old timers and the guys writing the scripts still reffer to Keys To Success but we really mean ASID.
Old habits die hard.

With respect to the error code.
PSE's use error codes logged by directors to troubleshoot issues on the Symm's.
It is not very oftem the error code on its own is useful. They will look at other error codes from the Symm at the same and use these in conjunction with sense bytes recorded with the error code to diagnose any issues on the Symm.
AB3E error codes can be found in many different scenarios but the sense bytes and other error codes will lead to finding the issue and resolution.
Hope this is helpful.

ASID was originally developed by a STAT team (Software Technology & Automation Team) that develops a variety of scripts for the Symmetrix and DMX products. In newer codes, Engineering has taken this over and created a HealthCheck script which is built right into the code.
