SRDF/A Consistent split
Guys,
Can I split an SRDF/A group using -consistent option without putting the source database in backup mode and get a consistent copy of production database ??
I need to create a copy of production database on Target side for QA purpose and I am thinking of doing the following steps.
1) Put database in backup mode -> is this required ,if we split the group using -consistent option
2) Split the RDF group ( -consistent )
3) Activate the clone to R2 copy (Clone is already in precopy state)
4) Reestablish R1 and R2 .
Let me know if there is any better way of doing this ??
Thanks

Hello, When you say database, what kind of database you are using?. Are you replicating the transaction logs as well to DR site?. If you are replicating both the database and transaction logs, then you can use the -consistent option against both the pairs to split and get a consistent copy of the database. There is no need for the database to put into backup mode.
