Can you look at other activity on the array?  What do you see in SPA?  Do you have other activities happening on the array?

It might be helpful for others searching the forums or looking at your post to have a little more detail.  Maybe if you rephrased the post as a question, such as, "Why is my sync between my STD and BCV so slow?" or "What steps should I take to see why my sync is so slow?" or even, "What factors influence how quickly/slowly I can sync a device?"

Hope this helps!

Karl

Ok, what protection are the BCVs?

I assume this is incremental?  Is this a VMAX?

symstat alone without any other parameters other than the -i will show WP per device.

Karl - Thank you for the advice.

No we don't have any activities happening no the array. I don't know how to check write pending on a device.

I tried with symstat -sid 28 -dev xxx -i 5      But i don't know how to read the output and calculate WP.

Ok so I assume this is true BCVs and not Clone emulation.

If this is incremental establish, sometimes the rate can fall off when we are close to completion.

Full establish may show much greater rates, but may take longer to complete, wall clock time.

STP is collected by default on the service processor, but can be started on any host running Solutions Enabler.

Or it may be 15 minutes, I can't recall off the top of my head.

I am including my device ID while running symstat command

symstat -sid 28 -dev 0ee0 -i 5

STD and BCV both are 2-Way-Mir

I wouldn't include the device number in the symstat command.  Other devices could be causing a slowdown if the WP count is high.

You could monitor the rate with a symmir query -i 60    At the start of the full establish the rate should be greatest.

stordaemon start storstpd

stordaemon show storstpd

stordaemon setoption storstpd -name =

The options that I would want set would be

dmn_run_ttp_on_sp=Disabled

dmn_run_ttp=Enabled

ttp_collection_interval=5

Once they are set:

stordaemon shutdown storstpd
stordaemon start storstpd

Then after say 30 to 60 minutes

stordaemon action storstpd -cmd archive

This will close the current collection and start a new one.  The file is in the directory shown in the "show" command.

The T1.xxxxx.gz file that is second oldest is the one I would want.

I know this is a lot, and some of the commands may depend on the version of SE you are running.

Easiest thing may be to get case open and have CS to get the files right off the SP, and help you with your issue directly.
