Thanks for posting!  Many systems have an internal battery to maintain the PERC cache in case of a dirty shutdown so that the pending reads and writes are not lost.  Some batteries maintained at full charge will eventually lose capacity if it is not discharged completely and recharged periodically.  The PERC controller does this automatically on some controllers.  The alert is just a "Normal" severity, so if you change your alert filter to only mention Warning and Critical messages, that will eliminate it.

You can also create an Exclude filter for that specific alert.  It is probably in the Storage category.

Thanks for the reponse and the explanation. One thing though, I am feeling a little silly here. I cannot find the alert for battery warnings. I looked through every category including the storage related categories twice. Either I am blind or it is listed as something not very obvious.

Any assistance in the right direction would be appreciated.

Well, they are not always easy to spot, but sometimes they do turn up in odd places.  Try looking in Power, you will see some alerts that are labelled with (StorageManagement - MIB) after them, there are some battery alerts in there.
