Battery Learn Cycle Alerts
Can someone please help me to understand why some of our servers are always sending out these types of alerts?
Device:STORAGE2 172.16.129.242, Service Tag:8MV39C1, Date:06/11/08, Time:08:51:04:000, Severity:Normal, Message:Alert message ID: 2181, Battery information. The controller battery Learn cycle will start in 24 hours., Controller 1, Battery 0
What alert needs to be excluded for to eliminate these information alerts?

Thanks for posting! Many systems have an internal battery to maintain the PERC cache in case of a dirty shutdown so that the pending reads and writes are not lost. Some batteries maintained at full charge will eventually lose capacity if it is not discharged completely and recharged periodically. The PERC controller does this automatically on some controllers. The alert is just a "Normal" severity, so if you change your alert filter to only mention Warning and Critical messages, that will eliminate it.
You can also create an Exclude filter for that specific alert. It is probably in the Storage category.
