Check consistency for drives Dell R710

Question

Hello,

How to check consistency on Dell drives on R710? I know that OMSA have the option but my installed version OMSA 8.4 is not showing that option in the list. So is there any other way to perform that or how can I get the option in OMSA? Thanks in advance!

Hello

Consistency check is not available on all controllers for all RAID levels. If the option is not available then your controller or RAID level may not support consistency checks. Also, make sure the version of OMSA you are using is supported. If you go to the R710 support page and choose your OS in the drop-down it should list the latest supported version of OMSA in the systems management section. Consistency check is a virtual disk operation, so make sure you are looking at the virtual disk task list and the controller or some other task list.

What controller and RAID level?

Thanks for the reply. Actually its not only consistency option missing, other options are also missing like drive offline...

I did check virtual disk menu.I have verified all tasks areas in OMSA console, but did not find these missing options.. I have ESX 5.5 U1 and OMSA installed on that is 8.4. Firmware and LC versions are old.

It is not a supported feature of the SAS6iR. The feature list starts on page 223 of the OMSA storage manual. I linked the manuals in a previous response.
