Dell Openmanage software for Linux v3.7 and VMware ESX 2.1

Has anyone been able to get the Dell OpenManage v3.7 software installed on a ESX 2.1 server? I attempted to install it, but it keeps erroring out with:

"error: Please accept the license agreement before continuing. Refer to the Dell Server Administrator users guide for information."

The document doesn't help much.

How were you able to get it installed?

Thanks for your reply.  I found the fix on the Vmware community forum.  I also have the Management Software Installation white paper from Vmware that shows how to install the Dell OpenManagement software.  I have to also install some dependancies before I can install the DOM software.

Thanks again.

I too am having problems.

I have the source rpm installed, have had to dummy up a /etc/redhat-release file and use ./start.sh -license

But all I get is -

[root@testingesx omsw]# ./start.sh -license
Turning off DMA on IDE CDROM drives.
Disabling DMA for CDROM /dev/hda
Message: [Start] -> Please wait
Checking Dependencies...
Setup cannot install/upgrade any applications. Please view the file /tmp/ominstal.log for more information.

and the ominstal.log file contains -

Applications with a DEPENDENCY message cannot be installed using unattended mode.
Applications with a WARNING message can be installed using unattended mode with "force" option.

Yes, the ppp rpm is installed. Is there a problem with my /usr/src links ?

There is a doc on Vmware's support site that walks you through on how to install the DOM software.  Here's the link:

Been there, tried it.  However, I can't find the /usr/sbin/omasetup.sh file (even on normal ASE 2.1 servers where Dell Openmanage has installed and works correctly).

Does anybody know how it gets on the system ? Is it part of an RPM ?

I was able to successfully install the DOM software using the PDF I linked to.  Did you upgrade your ESX from a previous version, or was it a new install?

I don't know that to say.  I was able to successfully install the DOM software on my PE1650.  The sources are located on the CD.  BTW, are you booting into the VMKernel or not?  If not, you need to be.  The DOM software will not install in any other way, nor will the Daemons start.
