Disable Local OMCI Warning Event Notifications?

Hi,

Is it possible to disable the local "Warning Event Notification" messages that the OMCI client generates whenever there is a RAM/HDD change?

This is very annoying because I have just installed the OMCI 7.1 client onto our company's standard operating environment ghost image and whenever I ghost a computer users keep calling the helpdesk because they receive the warning message due to different system specs.

I'm sure others would find this annoying too in an environment that is re-imaged frequently.

Thanks in advance - James

I second that request...

Perhaps my question is how to 'reset' the OMCI client so it will re-inventory the system (and have a new basline) after an image is restored?

I would also like this option.  I spoke with a Dell tech who told me that the latest build 7.1 (382) does not display these messages but it does.

James:  I don't think that is configurable at this time.  OpenManage support is split between Client machines and Servers so I would call Client support and get a case open on this one.

The answer to this is in WMI. I was going crazy with these alerts (our image is designed for the Optiplex and Latitude models). I tracked down the settings in WMI, and turned them off.

When sysprep is run, and the image is loaded, these will reset to default. I added a module to my automation routine to turn them off immediately, before they activate.

If anyone wants the info..

Where are these events in WMI.  I wrote a Vbscrit to make them local alerts only, but could not find where to turn them off.   Please let us know what settings you have to change to turn the event errors off.

Thanks
