DRAC card and vmware infrastructure

Hi there,

We are using poweredge servers 2950 with VI 3.0.1.
I have configured IP settings in the system utility during the startup of the server, but i cant access the drac card with my web browser.
I guess there are some extra steps required (like a software install on the box maybe) but i don't find any documentation anywhere, thanks in advance for pointing me to the right way to setup drac cards with VI.

Thank you for posting. The DRAC5 on the 9th generation servers should always be available for the web interface. This is true even when the OS is loaded into memory. You will want to check a few things first to ensure you have correctly configured your DRAC environment.

Start with connecting a nic cable to the nic port on the back of the server that has a wrench above it. This is the drac's nic port. Make sure you do not confuse this port with the 2 integrated nics that are used for the OS. Next go into ctrl+e and make sure the nic selection is set to dedicated.

Then, while in ctrl+e, configure your ip parameters. Once you exit the utility, thats it. You just need to access the drac's web interface by typing https://ipofdrac. You of course need ports 80 and 443 open on your network. Give this a shot and let us know what happens. Thank you.
