iDrac Unresponsive after a few days
Hi all,
First post on here, so apologies if it is in the wrong category etc.
I am having a few issues with iDrac on my Poweredge T620. Essentially, this server is powered off most of the time and when I require it to be on, I VPN to the network it is located and go to the iDrac IP and power it on.
After about 2-4 days of not accessing iDrac while the server is off, I cannot access it at all, nor ping it from the router on the same LAN. If I get someone to pull the power for a minute then plug it back in I can then ping it again and access iDrac.
There isnt some sort of sleep or other settings I need to be aware of is there?
Any ideas would be much appreciated and I can provide further details if needed.
Thanks in advance

Can you check iDRAC FW version installed on the server and ensure it is latest. Also ensure BIOS is also at latest. You can downloads latest iDRAC FW for T620 from below location

Hi, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, iDrac and the BIOS are fully up to date. I have just come back to check and suddenly it is online again. I am very confused by this and so wondering if you have an other recommendations?

Hello,
Well it seems that iDrac randomly has become available again. I am hesitant to do the recovery as it can still (sometimes) be accessed, and I presume I will lose all configuration?
Any other possible ideas?

Hello @RyanDixon99,
Can you check iDRAC Lifecycle log to see if there are nay errors? Normally there are not any sleep mode or something like that. The goal of the iDRAC is to have always it ready to be accessed.
If the firmware is up to date.. either is a hardware problem or a network problem. Can you just soft reset the iDRAC anc check how it behaves?
How to reset the internal Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) on a PowerEdge server?
This will only turn off/turn on the iDRAC. No configuration lost.
Regards.
