IDRAC6 Update device is not compatible
Hello!
Updating all the software on my R710 rev 2 today. Bios is currently 6.6.0 and LifeCycle Controller is 1.7.5. iDRAC is 1.80 right now, I want to update to 2.92, the latest. However I'm getting "The update package is not compatible with your system" when running the BIN downloaded from here . I tried updating to 1.85 first, but this got me Typeset: not found. Running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You can try updating iDRAC firmware using iDRAC GUI. Steps are mentioned in below post
https://www.dell.com/community/Rack-Servers/R610-firmware-up-to-6-6-0-can-t-get-iDRAC-to-update-two-related/m-p/7478044#M5946
As you have very old iDRAC FW I suggest not to directly update 2.92. Instead you can try staged update with some intermediate versions and reach 2.92.

Yep that has solved it! I tried updating earlier via the iDRAC GUI, but uploaded the BIN for RedHat, now I know I should've gotten the other download.
I updated to 1.85, then to 1.95 and then 2.92, worked out very well
Thank you!
