Is DRAC/iDRAC installed on the server
Hi,
I can not physically access the server. How could I be sure that server has DRAC or iDRAC? If I run:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\rac5>racadm -help
ERROR: Invalid option -h specified
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\rac5>racadm /help
ERROR: RACADM is unable to process the requested subcommand because there is no
local RAC configuration to communicate with.
Local RACADM subcommand execution requires the following:
1. A Remote Access Controller (RAC) must be present on the managed server
2. Appropriate managed node software must be installed and running on the
server
Does that mean server not support iDRAC?
thanks

What is your server model? This will help answer your question.
Thanks,

The 2900 has an OPTIONAL DRAC (no iDRAC until later server models). So you would first need to make sure that one is installed.

If you can't reach it with RACADM, it doesn't show in OMSA, it is not configured to be accessed remotely, and you don't have access to an IP KVM to watch the POST screens, then the only way to see if you have one (probably malfunctioning at this point if it is present), is to check the system physically - either for the card internally by opening the lid, or looking to see if there is a NIC on the rear port with a wrench icon above it.

That means I have physically access the server to ensure that DRAC card is installed?
thanks

It seems in OMSA I can configure DRAC settings, but through command line it is not available.
