IT Assistant and importnodelist.exe
I have about 1,000 devices scattered across subnets consisting of nearly 30,000 ip addresses. I'm wanting to be able to import the device list from another application that is already doing a discovery and have run across the importnodelist.exe file. However, I noticed when my IT Assistant does a discovery that it scans all of my discovery ranges concurrently. From what I understand, if I use importnodelist on an export of my other discovery, this would create 1,000 discovery ranges (single hosts). If that is true, does IT Assistant have a limit on the number of concurrent discoveries or threads that it will run?

Here is a whitepapaer that describe the use of the importnodelist utility.

ITA will run the discovery of 1000 discovery ranges, it will take some time and will require some performance tuning. Be default it runs a full discovery once a day, you may want to set this to run once a week at off peak hours. Also you may find it necessary to slow the discovery speed. This can be done in IT assistant, left pane options > discovery cycle.
Another option is to just turn off discovery and just rely on status polling. Providing you are not constantaly adding new managed devices.
