Both SBUU (SMTD) & LC should be capable of installation of Windows 2012. If your server is in BIOS boot mode, you can choose to utilze the server to boot with the support of SMTD ISO
Could you share which is the server -Storage controller you are attempting for installation ? SMTD supports from 9G till 12G.
You can choose to install Windows 2012 x64 using SMTD ISO as suggested by DELL-Sasikumar S through which all the peripheral drivers can also be installed one shot during the deployment. This SMTD ISO is common across 9G till 12G.

Installed Server 2012 on an R815 using the LCC. this past week, all drivers were integrated into the install.
