Login Error

I am use Network manager on a Dell 2650 running win2000.  When I launch the network manager client the logon screen comes up I enter the default and I get invalid password.  How do I recover this I have re-installed several times and keep getting the same issue.

The uninstall process of Network Manager should remove all database files which would clear any saved passwords.

On a reinstall of the application, the defaults login credentials would be the following:

  • User ID = admin
  • Password = [blank]

If the default credentials do not work, another problem may be the appserver. Verify that the appserver is running and start it if necessary. You might also verify that the VERSANTD and Dell OpenManage Network Manager services are running on the server.

I have the same problem, what services do I need running?

You should have an appserver status icon in the system tray. A green icon would indicate the appserver is in a Ready state. If there is no icon, you can use the "pmgetstatus" command from a command prompt to get the status.

The newest version of Network Manager uses a MySQL database rather than Versant. Windows should show the Dell OpenManage Network Manager and MySQL services running.
