"Login failed: connection error"

Installed server administrator and OpenManage per Dell's "guides". Launch localhost:1311 fine, but every time I try to log in I get the error "Login failed: connection error"

ensured the admin account had a password and all permissions, tried using localhost, 127.0.0.1, hostname, IP, and even the iDRAC IP. Same error. What am I doing wrong?

Tristan thank you so much. I've been banging my head against the wall all afternoon on this.

A more complete list old FF portable downloads is on SourceForge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Ed./

I went as new as v42 (because Douglas Adams) and confirm it worked for me.

I was able to log in as a qualified local admin domain account.

like somedomain\fname_lname.

It should be a Dell branded login screen. If you get a generic popup in the browser for username/password, close that one. The OMSA login screen should load after that.

Dell released OMSA v11 in December 2022.  It works on Windows Server 2016 and 2019, though it can only be downloaded as systems management for Server 2019.  I was having the same problem for months.  V11 works with current browsers and fixed all this.
