login failed with an access denied error idrac 8

I am attempting to get into iDRAC 8  virtual console but I am receiving the following error, "login failed with an access denied error."

This seems to have happened shortly after applying a firmware update package to my servers.

This issue appears very similar to one already posted and listed below. However, i attempted creating a new account with full admin privileges on the iDRAC, then logging out and logging in as the new admin user but this did not resolve the problem.

Hello

Is this issue only happening when trying to open a console, you are able to log into the embedded web server of the iDRAC without issue?

What application is popping up the access denied message? If you are using Java then try setting the console to native and use IE to test with activex. Check to see if you get a different error that may help narrow down where the issue is occurring.

Thanks

I had the same thing occur on an iDRAC8.  Changed it to naive let and when I get to the virtual console screen I receive a localhost login: prompt.

I had this issue today. And after few hours of investigations that I have found 5900 port in IDRAC is not accessible from my workstation. Make sure that you can connect to TCP port 5900 in the idrac ip address. You can this the port connection with telnet IP 5900

I had this issue because of the incorrect port forwarding.  I had 443 port forwarded via ssh on server A and 5900 forwarded on server B. Fix was simple for me. I had to fix the second port forwarding to server A. Then everything has start working.

I hope this helps and good luck.

Cheers,

Adel

Hello, thanks for your answer, maybe the next time i have this issue i would like to test..  i did multiple test and nothing worked for me, honestly i dont remember if i touch what you said.

What worked for me was a complete reset of the Card with RACADM command line, Shutdown the server, restart and reconfigure the ip addresses on the Drac card.

then the error gone and i could work.

so a ssl reset and a soft reset was not enough on the first hand.

Thanks.
