I think this is expected, All the componets under a modular chassis will show up under modular systems (servers, DRAC, switch). These will also be listed under their resepective groups as well (ie the same Drac will also appear under the RAC category)...

Really?? I thought modular would be systems like the 1955 blade servers... is a rac (drac) considered to be "Modular"??

Also FYI, this is the fist old series rac that i have been able to get working  (visible via IT Assistant) ... I have 12 others that I am working on...

Thanks,
Stuart.

You are right, Stuart. Modular system will include blade servers (like PE1655MC, 1955 etc). I think there might have been some confusion. PE2650 is expected to be classified unders "Servers" group and not Modular Systems. The earlier statement in this thread (that devices under modular systems will include all components like DRAC and switch) are true for the blades in general, not 2650. That statement holds for the Switch and RAC on the blade/chassis, not a RAC card on a normal server.

Also, when you say "old series rac" exactly what DRAC are you referring to? ITA can classify DRAC 4 and later under the RAC group. DRAC III and below would get listed under the "Unknown" group.

Hi There,

It is a 2650 running rac firmware 3.12 (Build 04.26). The server itself is fine and shows up under "Servers", the rac is showing up under modular systems. This is the only 2650 doing this... I have looked thought the rac config file and can find no difference between it and the other 2650 boxes... except maybe the firmware version...

Ummm... so only drac 4 and 5 cards will show up correctly.. is that right? if that is the case, what is the normal method when wanting to remote access one of the older rac cards? for a 4 or 5 version, we right click and choose "launch --> rac console"

Thanks,
Stuart.

In the IT Assistant Readme, under the " Known Issues" section, there is an entry describing when some of the DRAC cards could get classified under Modular Systems. You may want to take a look.

Regarding launching the application, did you think of creating a Favorite Application in ITA?
