Need help choosing a server.
Hi, I work for a company that designs and installs solar systems, we have a lot of photos, sketchup projects, videos and files shared on a computer that is also used to create these projects, and we're having problems with storage that is now over 8TB. The idea is to buy a server that will be used to store these files to be accessed by several computers on the network, and in the future run some ERP, database, etc... We also have the idea of adding a NAS server for backup. I went to a local store that gave me two options, Dell Emc Poweredge T140 or Dell Poweredge T340, which would be more suitable for us?

Thanks for looking into Dell for your company solutions. Though, I may need to leave this post to the public for their own opinion in their experience to provide more about the server's usage.

It may depends on how you see your future expansion, how far do you plan to use the server for. You might want to refer to the storage portion of each sever for their expansions. T340 does have capability to have more storage compared with T140. I may suggest to call the Dell sales department if they are available in your region, so they may assess your current and future needs.
