OMSA 8.4 configure email alerts with powershell?

Hi there,

I have a Dell Power Edge T610 server, I have configured the iDRAC email alerts to be disappointed that storage predictive failure isn't included. Does anyone have any pointers for configuring email alerts with powershell or is there something I am not seeing on this GUI? Thank you for any help.

Hello

I don't see storage events in the list of iDRAC platform events that alerts can be generated against. You can review the available alerts in the iDRAC manual. It looks like the latest documentation is on the 1.95 firmware support page.

The email capability is limited within OMSA. I don't think you can set up automatic email alerts with OMSA. You can configure SNMP alerts with OMSA. You may be able to use the custom alert action to run a script to send email alerts.

More features have been added to the newer iDRACs that allow more storage management and monitoring through the iDRAC. On the iDRAC6 you will probably need to use a centralized management station like OpenManage Essentials to have email alerts for storage events. You can also use SNMP alerts within OMSA and the iDRAC.

Thanks

Thank you for the insight, I will look into the powershell script.
