PD001,
Depending on the server you can use Open Manage Server Admin along with OpenManage IT Assistant for the older systems. With the newer servers you can use OpenManage Essentials.
What OS are you using and I can provide you the links you need?
Thanks.

PD0001 - If you have OpenManage Essentials running on a server somewhere and the OpenManage agent (Openmanage Server Administrator) installed on the server you want to get an email alert about, you can set up an email alert in the Openmanage Essentials console.
On the Openmanage Essentials server, Go to "Preferences" and then "Email Settings", this will allow you to authenticate to your SMTP mail server (you need a mail server with SMTP enabled)
Then go to "Manage", "Alerts" and select "New Alert Email Action" from the Common Tasks menu. You can select categories and source filters/queries (such as only critical alerts from server-A that happen between 5pm and 8am)
That should get you what you want!

p.s. Note that there is a lot more power in there as well, especially the "new alert application launch action" which allows you to fire off a batch file with parameters so you can do whatever you want to do.
