Open Manage server loses connectivity to a server

I'm new to the Dell line and was experimenting with using ITA to monitor a Dell Server.  After installing the ITA and the Server agent, discovery went well and I configured a filter and actions to email me messages.  This appears to work except that I don't get a message or event if the ITA loses contact with the server due to network issues or if the server is powered off.  The ITA notices the server is offline and changes status but no event or message is generated.  What am I missing?
