OSD065 Where can I find installation logs?
I am using idrac version 7 and after a server power failure I received a message:
- "OSD065: Operating System/Hypervisor Installation did not complete successfully."
- "Check the installation logs of operating system or hypervisor, resolve any issues identified, and then retry the operation.
Where can I find detailed information about "installation logs"?
iDrac web interface returns only a generic error (server-> logs -> lifecycle logs).
The server works without any problems. Is it possible to delete only a single alert? I would not like to delete all logs.

Hello rvva,
Were you installing an OS or Hypervisor? If so what OS and version?
This will help in finding documentation for the OS install logs.
I would also recommend to make sure the firmware is up to date.
What is the server model?
Have there been any hardware changes from original purchase configuration?
You may consider running the built in diagnostics to check for any hardware issues:
Boot to F11 on Dell Splash screen, selecting Boot Manager -> System Utilities -> Launch Dell Diagnostics. Note any messages and continue testing.
You cannot delete a single entry but you can export the log for archive then clear the log. Or you can let it stay in the log.
Have you tried a reinstall?
Now you say it is working without problem and if that is the fact you may stay with it.

CentOS
PowerEdge R420 without any modifications
Additional info:
The boot partition of the operating system was reinstalled, more specifically the grub bootloader.
Could this have been the cause of the problem?

I'll note we do not have CentOS support for the R420.
Your PowerEdge R420 supports these operating systems

It could be since it was just the grub bootloader and not a full install that is why the DRAC flagged it.
Maybe this can help:
https://dell.to/3EekIVC
Installation log; displays messages stored in /tmp/anaconda.log.
There may be other community members that have installed CentOS on R420 that can share their experience.
