Port 10000 Conflict With Backup Exec

Recently we upgraded from Backup Exec 8.6 to 10d but we were unable to push the new Remote Agent out to one of our remote systems.  The installation error indicated that port 10000 was in use by another program.  In working with Veritas\Symantec tech support we were unable to change the default port to push the remote agent so we stopped Dell OpenManage, which was the application using the port.  Is there any way to change the port Dell OpenManage uses so we can run it without having it conflict with our backup software?  Thanks.

Which particular OpenManage application is being run on that system?  (Server Administrator, IT Assistant, etc.)  Also, what version is it?

For me, only Port 1029, 1311, 8000 are being used by OMSA Services.  I have a strong feeling that Port 10000 is opened by some other application.  This is how we can check.

1.  If you have a Windows OS, at the command prompt type "netstat -an -o".  This will list all open ports along with the process IDs of each process that is running them.

2.  Now, viewing that output of that command under the Local Address column, find something like 0.0.0.0:10000 or anything that has the last set of numbers ending with 10000.

3.  Find the PID for that line on the far right

4.  Now right click on your taskbar and start Windows Task Manager

5.  Select the Processes tab

6.  Select the menu item called "View"

7.  Select the item in that menu called "Select Columns"

8.  Add a check mark to PID and click OK

9.  Now sort the list of processes by PID and find the PID that you saw in Step 4.  What is the name of the service that is running it?

I have the same problem when trying to install Backup Exec 11d on my server with Openmanage on it.  I followed these steps and found that the service running on port 10000 is associated with the PID for process jrvsrv.exe.  This exe is located within the openmanage netstart (c:\dell\openmanage\netstart\oem\bin) folder.  I am assuming the port 10000 is being used by this process.  How do I change that port?  I would really like to keep Openmanage on this server and also install Backup Exec 11d.  Please Advise.
