PowerEdge R820 downloads.dell.com

Hi,

I got my iDrac configured, it's accessible, I downloaded the latest firmware for iDrac and also for the bios.  Both are up to date to the latest version.  I know wanna see if there are other downloads that I can install.  So I go to the Update and Rollback, take HTTPS and downloads.dell.com and try but it won't work.  I get this:

Someone any idea? It's iDrac 7 version: 2.65.65.65

Bios: 2.7.0

GeertIndekeu,

Normally you would see that error if the network isn't configured to let the idrac have external access to the internet, or is on a separate network. You do have another couple options. The first one would be if you have OpenManage installed, as it would tell you if a newer version was avaialble. Another option is with the Server Update Utility ISO found here. Now an issue you can run into is that 12th generation servers and older are no longer covered in the update catalog, so they will tell you the later version, but you may have to manually go and get the very latest version.

Let me know if this helps.

To get downloads.dell.com working your iDRAC needs propper DNS and access 443 to the internet. BUT... i have in mind that 12Gen. Servers already revoked from the catalag which is true for OME and other Tools as well.

Joerg
