Problem with Server Administrator 1.6 and IT Assistant 1.6
Today I started testing of OM3.6 using the downloaded files from the web site. The first problem after upgrade (Custom) is that it does not upgrade the Server Administrator from 1.4 to 1.6. SA was not any available installation option.
The second problem was that IT Assistant has removed its virtual directory link from IIS. Is there anyway to access the user interface via IIS now?

Now I have a third problem which is with the IT Assistant user interface. Due to not being able to run the interface from IIS, I thought about installing the user interface on my citrix metaframe server. Well I did this, and published it as a seamless application for the IT systems people. Problem it will not runs using a standard user login, it will only crash. Run the published application as administrator then you are ok.

Thanks, I'm downloading this now. Maybe Dell can answer my next question for me. Why not allow a iso download file of the om 3.6 cd which will get around this mixup.

Heh,
I ran into the same problem:
You can find 2 files on the website:
* om36_management_stationA00.exe (Over 300 Megs big)
* om36_win_managed_systemA00.exe (Over 170 Megs big)
Use the FIRST package on your MANAGEMENT WORKSTATION (It Installs IT ASSISTANT v1.6.0 & others)
Use the SECOND package on your SERVER (It will update the SERVER ADMINISTRATOR v3.6.0 & others)
Indeed vague naming ;)
Hope this helps!

Has anyone been able to run the user interface for IT Assistant 6.5 from IIS?

If that's the case then I have a new problem to deal with. As a workaround I was installation the GUI on a citrix farm that I have. Problem is that it crashes when it run as a standard but not as an administrator. If you logon onto the console of the server as a standard user then its ok.

You cannot now share the ITA GUI through IIS !
ITA 6.5 uses some Windows ActiveX controls which makes it unpublishable through IIS - it's a new "feature". But the new GUI has a few better features, so it's a trade-off.

That's ridiculous!!!!
How can Dell do that to users?? remove the web GUI? Lots of companies just use the web gui for administration of Open Manage....
Dell PLEASE put this back in !!!
