Processor Power settings in BIOS and racadm

Page 332 talks about BIOS attributes. My guess is that you would need a reboot, but you would have to try it out.

Looks like the following racadm command in the BIOS.SysProfileSettings group is the right one

BIOS.SysProfileSettings.ProcPwrPerf

the options are:

• MaxPerf

• MinPwr

• SysDbpm

• OsDbpm

Is there anybody at Dell that can confirm that a reboot is required or if there is another racadm command that can force the above setting change to become active?

I confirmed that all BIOS related configurations in RACADM (and WSMAN) need an OS reboot.

If your live server is running with RHEL 5, SUSE flavors of OS, you can also utilize the installed RPMs of DTK Version 4.3, (using which these specific tokens could be set Post OS also). But i guess it would require reboot to allow these set.

The racadm command to change the processor power setting is fine for me:

racadm set BIOS.SysProfileSettings.ProcPwrPerf MaxPerf

As noted though it still requires reboot.
