Storage object not showing up in the Server Administrator tree view

I'm running OMSA 4.5 on a PowerEdge 4400.  OS-W2K03 Server SP1

I'm pretty new to OMSA and was just poking around to see what I could see, and noticed that on one of the 2 servers that I have this installed on, the Storage object doesn't show up where it should.    Can anyone tell me why it isn't there?

Another questions, once I can get the storage object to show up, what options are there with it?  Can I have it run nightly tests on my Raid Array and email me the results if there are problems?  If so, how do I do this?

Also, I was trying to set the same thing up for all alerts in general.  I haven't been able to achieve this.    For example, currently one of the servers is reporting that Hard Drive Fan 3 has gone out.  I had to go into the App manually to see this.  How can I set it up so that it would have emailed me?

to finish off my top post, the only options I see for alerting are:

Beep speaker on the server.
Display an alert message on the server.
Broadcast a message.
Execute application.

these are good, but I would like to be emailed.  is this possible?

On the 2 servers that do not show the storage management module check to see if Array Manager is installed.  If it is you can go to add/remove programs and remove it, then select Server Administrator and Modify.  Then you can select OMSM.

As far as storage alert actions are concerned you will not see them.  OMSM can send SNMP traps for failed drives but at this time it cannot beep the speaker, do a pop up, or any of that.

OMSM will write the alert to the Windows system log or /var/log/messages.  You can use a trap reciever like IT Assistant to receive traps for failed drives or another monitoring tool like MS MOM or Altiris that monitors the afore mentioned logs for alerts. Both of these applications are capable of sending email alerts in the event of a problem.  Server Admin (with or without OMSM) cannot send email alerts.

Array Manager is not installed on either server.  Dell HW chat instructed me to update firmware and BIOS which I have done, and still the Storage tree does not show on either server.  This is frustrating as I can't properly manage my server without it.

What gives?  Please advise.

Are you sure the Storage Management module was installed?  You can go to add / remove programs, select Dell Openmanage then do a modify.
