System Input Power Cap is the maximum AC power that the system is allowed to allocate to servers and chassis infrastructure.
You can configure System Input Power Cap to any value that exceeds the minimum power needed for servers that are powered on and the chassis infrastructure. You cannot configure a value that falls below 2,715 watts, the minimum power needed for servers and chassis infrastructure.
You can obtain the power allocated to servers and chassis infrastructure from the CMC User Interface in the Chassis -> Power-> Budget Status page under the Power Budgeting section or by using the racadm getpbinfo CLI RACADM command. You can power off one or more server(s) to lower the current power allocation, and attempt to set a lower value for System Input Power Cap (if required), or just configure the capacity before powering on the servers.
To change this setting, enter a value in any of the units field. The interface ensures that the updated unit field is the value that is submitted when the changes are applied.
