Hi DH,
Sorry it was of no help. I got my Streak direct from Dell and before I bought a sim I had it running on two different Wi Fi networks. It shouldn’t need a sim for the Wi Fi.
Is yours locked to a network? I can’t see how this would cause issue but I am out of ideas.
When you get to 4. Wi Fi networks what do you see?

Hi
Sales rep. was right it shouldn’t be an issue. You don’t need a sim to use the WiFi, its a totally separate function. Turn on WiFi and select your router from list, security info and off you go. Sorry if this is patronising I don’t know what you have tried.
No need for apologies I really appreciate the help.
At 4 I can see my WIFI connection , so I click on it, select connect ........ then nothing appears to happen ! Press the home key to open a browser but can't connect to any web page
Unfortunately this is still not working for me . To be clear I am not putting a SIM into the Streak at all, not simply disabling the Mobile Networks facility.
I must be doing something wrong but I have followed the exact steps as you have detailed

Hi
I am stumped, is the signal strength is ok? Do you have any security on the router?
