It's not possible to change the timeout time parameter for security reasons.
If you have performance charts running in real time view, the GUI doesn't log you off. The same might be true if you do what you said (historical graphs with auto-refresh selected) but I never tested this myself.
Just bear in mind that the previous comment / option (glen) only apply if STIG mode is enabled, which is not really something the normal system should have enabled.
