Delete storage pool(s) - How to?
Hi,
I've installed UnityVSA on my cluster and I added a virtual disk to it to do some first testing. That part worked pretty well. Now, I would like to delete the pool I created to change the setup for more precise testing and it always fail with error code 0x6700174 which translate to "The storage pool has associated Capability Profiles and cannot be delete. Delete All Capability Profiles, and then try deleting the pool".
When I added the virtual disk, I've used all the default and assigned the pool as a performance tiers. After the pool was created, I assigned it to a host in order to play with it. Before trying to delete the pool, I've unassigned the host (which worked) and now, I'm stuck. In the PDF, I can see that there is a step in the pool creating where we can create a Capability Profile for the pool. I don't remember having done so but if that's the default, I may have done it. The problem is that I can't find where these profiles are stored in order to delete it.
Does anybody has an idea or know how to get rid of a pool on UnityVSA?
Thank you.

I found where the Capability Profiles are hidden. You have to go into "Storage/VMware" and you will have Capability Profiles as the second choice in the upper tab. Once deleted from there, I was able to delete the pool in the "Storage/Pools" section.
It would have been great that the error message would have pointed to that section directly with some kind of link in the message. I suggest that any error message that is referring about interdependence should have a link to the appropriate sub menu. That would save some time figuring what Unisphere is trying to tell us.
Thank you. Hope this help other who may encounter the same error message.

thanks for the feedback
I'll check if we can make the error message more helpful
