How to download Unity Connection Utility
Hello!
I have not used EMC products for many years. Now I need to set up a Dell EMC Unity 480F with a static address. Every piece of documentation repeats the same info: "Download the Connection Utility installation program from the Dell EMC Online Support website (https://www.dell.com/ support), under the Downloads selection on the menu bar of the product page for your storage system."
However, there is no connection utility download there. I have jumped through hoops creating an account, whitelisting Dell's broken mailer, entering verification codes and whatnot. No download link.
I am aware of the limitation that the utility will only run on Windows. I am searching on an Ubuntu machine. Could this have anything to do with it? Does anyone have a deep link for the Windows binary? Account-protected and/or "specify serial number only" is fine, I have all that.

Thank you Sam! Unfortunately, following that link and logging in, I just get "Invalid Access". Some seven hours ago, I have opened a service request about my account, because I did find another link, but was blocked since I don't have a "business account".
I don't get it: My customer has purchased two Dell EMC products, I am contracted to install them. I can provide serial numbers and service tags, but I can't download a Windows binary... because of my web site user account type. Yes, I did specify my company name.
*sigh*
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time trying to help me.

This is nothing short of incredible. After waiting since Thursday (it's now Monday evening) for *any* response to my support request (other than an automated acknowledgement that did include the SR number) I am now trying to reach Dell EMC. That has proven to be impossible. There is no "chat" option once I am logged in even though such an option is documented, and *all* numbers here in Germany (toll free or local) either are invalid or lead to "we are experiencing technical difficulties, please try later".
So, I don't have software to set IPs, the DHCP client in the storage is broken (the DHCP server shows the 480F getting the lease, then it plays dead), and Dell EMC will not talk to me.
I haven't had such a bad support experience for many years. But hey, the web site software can "remove substitute character" for my characterisation of that Windows binary, that I still don't have, for two brand-new 480Fs my customer paid good money for.
Absolutely speechless.

Hi,
I too require the Unity Connection Utility but cannot find a link for it anywhere in the same boat in such that I support this product for a customer yet can't get the software. Do I need to log a call to request it, seems a lot of work for what should be a free product.

I feel your pain. Did your customer buy directly from Dell? If so, they may have an account manager or other Dell representative. My advice would be to contact Dell through that channel. I wasted more than five days waiting for a reaction to my "administrative support request", which never came.
All the customer contacts at Dell were very friendly and helpful, and immediately got the ball rolling.

Hello BeggingforHelp,
If you have an active EMC support contract on your system, then you should be able to download the utility from the site. If you don’t have an active support contract on your system then you will not be able to get the utility.

I'm in the same boat the location for our version of Connection Utility got wiped in our Storage Pool failure too so can't re-run the software nor download it either as no doubt our support has ended. Surely there must be a after sales service option.
Trying to log into Support gives me a SSO error, its like 'no support for you'.

How long ago did you create your account? Is your account tied to your company site id or unity system?

Hello hueuni,
Your account needs to be tied to either your company site id or unity system in order to access the download.
