Inquiry about UID and GID settings when using Unity NFS Only
Hello. The current configuration is NFS only.
- Configure PDF_NAS01 file system as an NFS client to connect network drives to 6 windows server
- PDF_NAS01 Mounted and used as an NFS client.
-Problem situation-
Some of the files created in the application of the ch_user account are created with user and group privileges as nobody. The normal process is the process of creating ch_user:users and using the file to convert it in the document APP (PDF conversion) server, and then transfer it as a ZIP file to the NFS file system allocated from Hitachi H-NAS storage of the office processing WAS server. It is said that the work is performed.
1. Can you set the ch_user uid in /PDF_NAS01 on the nas server?
2. Is it the effect of nas that the owner of the file is created as nobody?
3. What configuration or settings should be done in nas to prevent the nobody file from being created.
4. UID and GID settings are the default, but to map this to the server What should I do?
The equipment model is Unity680XT. Only after NFS is configured, use an account other than the root account. In order to mount and access, do I only need to set r/w, not r/w allow root?

Hello hanssong,
Which Unity system do you have, & what is your current OE on that system?
