iSCSI Storage and Routing
Hi VSA Community,
Is this possible to have iSCSI initiator and target in different subnets? I know routing is not recommended for iSCSI storage due to overhead of TCP Checksums and what not.
I have a Dell UnityVSA Community Edition appliance in one of the IP in subnet i.e 10.10.10.0 while target vcenter server is in different subnet. Every time I proceed to add vcenter server , it says Network Error 409 .
My assumptions is that Dell UnityVSA Community Edition should be in same broadcast domain as target ESXi hosts etc. which i have been dealing with ages. however, this time round, i tried to have ESXI hosts in different subnets than Dell UnityVSA Community Edition.
Via command prompt on UnityVSA , PING to IPs in different subnet is filtered while PING to internet hostname works.

Hello Aleem Syed,
They will need to be in the same subnet.
