If you mean directly connecting hosts via SAS to the storage systems - Unity doesnt support that
It offers Fibre Channel and ISCSI for this
There is a new low-end block only Dell storage system - the PowerVault ME4 series - that supports SAS direct connect
see here
It does use different management tools than CX or Unity

There are low end Dell EMC Unity systems, yes. You need to reach out to your sales rep to have a chat about options.
Unity UI (Unisphere) is all HTML5 based, so no more need for clients, etc. It's pretty smooth (GUI) compared to the java based UIs from past products.
Have a look at the Dell EMC Unity info hub:
Dell EMC Unity All-Flash & Hybrid Info Hub
As for your SAS question, not sure what you mean. SAS is only the backend connection to drives etc. So yes, Unity functions in this way also. For Front End, it can do block (FC and iSCSI) as well as File (SMB/NFS/multi) and much more.
