metrosync load balancing reference

from https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/storage/industry-market/h17216-dell_emc_unity-metrosync.pdf

use cases outlined are

  • Data Mobility

o Maintenance

o Load balancing

o Upgrades

for load balancing, I interpret this as presumable we are looking at some balance of io in an active/active cluster with each side capable of failover over to the other side

Q. Is this a valid interpretation, and if so can documentation be pointed to re setup and can anyone comment on experience if used ?

Hi,

I wasn’t able to find any real world examples of it being used. We do have an updated document on Metrosync though https://dell.to/3FhYcLS

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

whats you specific question ?

one NAS server is always active on one Unity.

The use case load balacing means that you could configure an active/active cluster and if you notice that one system has higher usage than the other re-balance my manually moving one or more NAS servers to the node with lower utilization.

Thats being it used quite frequently
