Quota full / file system full
Hi,
We have quotas set for user home folders. Once user reaches his quota, Unity sends notification to admins as Error. In fact, this is not an error and we don't care if users use all space of home folders. It's up to them.
Does anyone know if there is possibility to disable these notifications?
Same goes for full file systems. If owner of file share needs larger share, we have processes users need to follow to get their department share extended. Until he does that, I really don't care if some of the file systems are full.
I am afraid this notifications can't be disabled at the moment, but maybe this post would help EMC as a hint for future releases.
Thanks.

Could you expand a bit on what you mean? You're saying you have quotas configured, but you don't really want to enforce them or have you notified if someone breaches them?

Hi,
we have configured quotas and we are enforcing them. Problem is, when someone reaches quota limit, Unity sends error event. Thing is, it's not an error. Information event for sure, but not an error.
In our environment, with hundreds of user, every time when someone reaches a quota on a home drive, I receive an e-mail. It's not something I am interested in, when users fill up their home drives.

Hello,
Currently, there’s no built-in way to disable these notifications in Unity, but you can check if there’s an option to filter or suppress quota-related alerts in the system settings. If not, consider redirecting or automating the handling of these messages to avoid unnecessary admin alerts. Otherwise, this would be a useful feature request for EMC in future updates.
Thanks
