System Capacity - blue "pre-alloacted" - what for?

Unity 650F, single dynamic pool, everything (block only) thin provisioned with Advanced de-duplication enabled.

Only synchronous replication, no snapshots or anything like that.

And yet, when looking at System Capacity pie-chart, we are having 23% "blue" - "pre-allocated"?

What is that for? Quite a lot of expensive Flash storage not available for use?

    Hello XRay1978,

“The Preallocated Space displays the amount of remaining space in the pool that is reserved for, but not actively being used by, a storage resource.”  This is found in the Dell EMC Unity Family Configuring Pools on page 20. https://dell.to/2wY8TVt

I would suggest to open a service request and upgrade to the latest Unity OE service pack

    Hi XRay1978

did you manage to resolve this "preallocated" issue?

Is there any way to claim this area again for the Pool?

    Thank you

    Hi Sam,

Link seems to be broken do you have anything else to resolved this situation? we have 100+TB stuck in preallocation. Anyway i am going to open a service request, but thought to check if others are impacted too and got any solutions.
