Unity 300 hard drive sanitize
I'm working on an EMC Unity 300 unit, I've reconfigured the unit with a reinitialize of both SP's. Trying to sanitize the drives in unit didn't know if there was a method or procedure to do so to 100% clean the drives.

Awesome, thank you for the article. So the reinit does a full wipe on all of the drives in the unit?

Hello Eikey,
I reinit will put the system back to factory state when the system is shipped to the customer. The only thing that will be on the drives is the base os unity image. All customer data will be deleted during the reinit.

a re-init will delete that LUN/fs and raid config
It will NOT sanitize or overwrite all data on the drives
if you need that there are professional services options that can supply you with certificates
Otherwise you create new raid/luns after the re-init and write data to it multiple times - but it will take time and there is no guarantee that every data blocks on the disks gets overwritten
just depends on which level of security you need
