What is the Host Agent for Linux/UNIX?

Today I noticed at the very end of the downloads for ViPR SRM 3.7 sp2, something called the Host Agent for Linux/UNIX.  I don't have a Liniux/UNIX system at hand where I would feel confident installing it, but it appears to to install cron jobs to collect statistics and ship them to a collector.  Does anyone know anything about this?  Is there some documentation that I've missed?  Thanks.

    Hi Samuel,

The Host Agent for Linux/Unix is used in the Physical Host Solution Pack; it allows for discovery from a non-privileged user.

For additional information you can refer to the ViPR SRM 3.7.2 Solution Pack installation guide on page 250.

    Regards,
