custom view title
I have created a custom view (row-oriented table), and for the title, I set it to string template, which calls several functions to pull the data. When I click on "Test" I was able to view the title. However, when I tried to view it through remote portlet in the browser, the title is blank. If I put this inside a grid layout, then I am able to see the title. Is there a way to see the title without putting it inside a grid?

Try adding the functions to Additional Context keys, then use the context keys in the String Template you are using for the title.
