Database Got Nuked from Orbit

My database server got nuked and had to be rebuilt.  Now when I attempt to reconnect the vKernel appliance it won't talk to the database server, MS SQL 2008 R2.  The check settings button verifies the user credentials as being good.  When I hit the proceed button to have the database built I get the follow error:

Databae configuration has error: Hibernate operation: Cannot open connection: uncategorized SQLException for SQL(???)

Any one have any ideas that dosen't require me to rebuild the vKernel appliance and have to go through the licensing headache?

Thanks

Hi Dan

Depending on the state of the MS SQL server data, different steps would be taken.  At this point, I would strongly recommend opening a support case.

The state of the data is there is no data.  I had to reinstall MS SQL.  I was hoping vKernel would create a new database.  Just like the process vKernel uses during installation.  That process creates / configures an empty database.

Hi Dan,

Please follow Martin's recommendation and open a support case for an engineer to review the error.

Thanks,

I would love to, only problem is as I am a vKernel customer and haven't setup a Quest account yet.  The Quest site won't let me setup an account because it says I'm not a current customer.  I try and setup a new ID and it tells me that customer already exists.  This doesn't give me any warm feelings about prospects for a seccussful resolution.

Hi Dan,

Sorry about your troubles creating the case. I have logged a support case on your behalf and one of our engineers will give you call about this.

Thank you so much for all the efforts. I am trying to add details to the case and it appears the only place I can edit is the Add Case Note section. Is this the appropriate place to add details?
