ESX Host Hardware Information
It appears that vFoglight is not pulling the ESX Server's Hardware Information (Make, Model, etc.), as I've searched through the entire vFoglight DB for it and cannot find it in any of the tables. It would be nice if the VMware Cartridge was updated to pull this information since it is available via the vSphere Client.
No Events found!

Yes it would. I see nobody from Quest has weighed in on this. We are evaluating Foglight for event management and it seems to fall short on this point. It is not clear to me if the Hardware Status information available in vCenter via CIM is in turn exposed via the vSphere APIs. I know there used to be a seperate SDK for CIM. If they could at least deal with the alarms from hardware status this would be useful even if they could not get the actual hardware sensor data that is available in vCenter.
I know your query was even more basic, HW make and model... But maybe the data source is the same, not sure.
They tell us to use SNMP, but we are looking for a solution that takes more of the work out of ESX hardware monitoring. You would think since the sensor data, thresholds, and alarms are available in vCenter they could leverage that. It would even be easier than if Quest had to develope CIM integration for several different hardware vendors...
