New to vOPS

Hi all,

At the initial configuration while adding the vcenter to vOPS Standard Server 6.3 I'm getting an error "the specified host doesn't exist or cannot be contacted" after about 10 seconds of "discovering servers" message. I can ping the vcenter from the console. Anybody encountered the same issue? What port vOPS is trying to connect to vcenter?

Also if I enter a non existent host then it throws this error immediately.

Using vcenter 5.1

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,

A few things to note:

  1. Try using the FQDN for the host.
  2. Check the credentials in use
  3. TCP port 443 needs to be open between vOPS and vCenter.
