Post-Install Upgrade Procedures for vFoglight v6.5.1
Upgrading the Guest Process Investigation and Hyper-V Agents Note: This procedure only applies to upgrading from versions prior to 6.5.1. Hyper-V agents will only exist if previously created by the user. Login Login to vFoglight using the Administrator user name and password.
Deactivate the Guest Process and Hyper-V Agents
Navigate to: Dashboards > Administration > Agents > Agent Status
Deactivate the Guest Process and Hyper-V Agent(s) by selecting the agents and click Deactivate Button.
Note the Version of the Agents. Hosts with Guest Process Agents of version 5.5.7 will not have new agent packages deployed as described later. This will be the case if when upgrading from vFoglight 6.5, assuming previous upgrades have been completed properly.
Navigate to: Dashboards > Administration > Agents > Agent Hosts
This screen shows all Agent Hosts currently connected to the vFoglight server. If an Agent Host is not connected, go to that host and start Foglight Agent Manager.
If the “Version” of any FglAM Agent Host listed is not 5.5.5.4 or later please continue with Upgrade of Foglight Agent Manager otherwise skip to “Deploy the New Agent Package” section.
To upgrade, select the Agent Host from the list and click on the Upgrade button. The process may take a few minutes and the Agent Host may disappear from the list temporarily while it is restarting. (Note: Repeat upgrade for every Agent Host not at version 5.5.5.4 or later.)
In some cases the upgraded Foglight Agent Manager may fail to restart after upgrading and will report as failed. In this case, go to the Foglight Agent Manager host and manually start the Foglight Agent Manager.
Note: If upgrading from vFoglight version 5.2.4, a Foglight Agent Manager and Guest Process agent do not yet exist. For information on how to install and configure the vFoglight Agent Manager, see the vFoglight Installation and Setup Guide.
Navigate to: Dashboards > Administration > Agents > Agent Hosts
For all Agent Hosts with Hyper-V agents and Agent Hosts with Guest Process Agents prior to version 5.5.7 as noted above:
Select the Agent Host from the list again and click the Deploy Agent Package button. From the Package list, select GuestProcess.gar or HypervAgent.gar and click the Deploy button.
Navigate to: Dashboards > Administration > Agents > Agent Status
Click Refresh in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the Guest Process and Hyper-V Agents and click the Activate button.
On my user-created Dashboard, the Memory Utilization graph information does not update, so I have to assume these are related. Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?
